Hi,

I’m an English author based in France with books translated in French. I have a pop-up form in English and an associated newsletter list. I cloned the pop-up form, translated it into French and selected targets based on French-speaking countries to view the form based on where they’re located.

Here’s my first question. Can I easily associate this pop-up form that I’ve already spent a lot of time creating with a separate French newsletter list? It seems like I have to create the pop-up form while the French NL list is open, which means I’d need to start the form from scratch. Can I simplify this?

The second question is how would flows work for French customers. How do you associate a flow based on location when it comes to a purchase? My head is going to explode. Why don’t I just give up now? 😫

Hi Jennie

For your second question, could you leverage event data from the Purchase to help decide which version of the flow to use? For example, can you see which version of the book they purchased? If so, you could add a Trigger Split to your flow where if the items order include “french” have them go to the flow branch that is in French, otherwise have them go to the flow branch that is in English. If it’s location based, you could also leverage the billing/shipping details of the order to achieve a similar experience, something like if location = France go to French branch of flow otherwise serve the English branch.

It really comes down to what data you have available in your Order Placed event, but there should be some way to effectively achieve this.

One other thought is that you can set up a Conditional Split in your flow based on someone’s proximity to a location, this could get a little weird if you have customers using VPNs, but otherwise could be a way to target orders being placed by folks located in France vs elsewhere if you dont have any other datapoints to leverage.

Hope that helps!
-Mike

Hi Mike,

Yes those ideas help. Thanks. If someone can answer my first (more pressing) question that would be great! Thanks

Jennie

Hi @Jennie-G !

Do you mind providing some additional context around your first question? I’m not entirely sure what you mean by “It seems like I have to create the pop-up form while the French NL list is open, which means I’d need to start the form from scratch.”. If you’ve created the French popup form, and created a  French NL list, then once you click on the submit button you should see the option to ‘Submit to List’ and then select your French list in the dropdown! For example:

Let me know if I am misunderstanding the ask!

Oh my goodness no - that was it. I was clicking on the buttons up top (teaser, email opt-in) and the buttons on the side (styles, targeting and behaviour, add blocks) but it did not occur to me to click on the fields themselves (email, button click action, etc.) So you basically saved the day. My brain is like molasses sometimes. Thanks for your help.
